Report;

On the 29th January 2017 an Aid convoy travelling from the National Redoubt Stockpile was ambushed. Upon hearing gunfire, members of Eelry’s People’s Militia Unit travelled to the source of the fighting and found the remains of the drivers, militiamen and the vehicles looted of all vital supplies. With the combined loss of men, vehicles and fuel, an urgent message was relayed by horseback to the Steðeheard Militia outpost in the town of Paendely.
Upon the receipt of the message, myself Captain Odard Shields ordered one platoon of mounted militiamen to travel to the site of the attack and assist in operations to find the perpetrators. The Platoon Commander Lt Ricola Spittle, arrived at the scene several hours later and began following tracks that led into the woodlands North-East of Eelry. As darkness fell the platoon halted the search and set up a secure harbour.
At first light on the 30th January 2017 the platoon moved off and continued to follow the tracks. Approximately 5 miles into the Eelry woodlands the platoon spotted faint signs of wood smoke coming from an abandoned saw mill. Upon this discovery a section of militiamen went forth to recce the building whilst the remainder of the platoon prepared for an assault. Two hours later the recce team returned and confirmed that a mixed group of twenty men and women were in possession of the Sawmill. These individuals were armed and had established basic defences albeit lacking in structure and professionalism. The recce team was also able to identify packages bearing the National Redoubt Insignia which confirmed their role in the ambush.
After utilising the information gained by the recce team Lt Ricola Spittle launched a pincer assault on the encampment. Through speed, aggression and tactical prowess the Lieutenant’s militiamen were able to dismantle the bandit’s defences and personnel. After the brief period of fighting the militiamen suffered from one minor injury, whilst enemy combatants were all listed as KIA. However one hostile combatant confirmed of other possible groups scattered throughout the woodland before summary execution.
The platoon made contact with the Eelry People’s Militia, who were able to transport the majority of the supplies back to their Diaspora camp, save for some items that were too damaged in the attack.
In conclusion to this report I would like to commend Lt Ricola Spittle for her bravery and quick action in accomplishing this operation. Furthermore we will be working with the Eelry People’s Militia to eradicate any remaining hostiles within the nearby woodlands.
