Successful Raid in King’s Watch
On the 5th October 2017 the Specialist Response Unit of the Beweardian raided an abandoned block of offices on the western outskirts of King’s Watch. The settlement which is currently under reconstruction following the reestablishment of the Faedertellus, had been utilised by a small gang of drug smugglers taking advantage of the nearby mountain passes.
Concerned construction workers contacted the National Police Force, following an incident in which a gang member fired shots at a building inspector who had unwittingly come across one of their drug stashes. The Beweardian quickly responded by dispatching two 6 man squads from the Specialist Response Unit who tracked down the suspect and the base of operations for the gang.
Upon finding the location the SRU officers were fired upon by members of the gang, in response the SRU Officers raided the block of offices that the gang were holed up in and made several arrests in addition to neutralising a number of the gang members.
Forensic Officers from the Scon Division confirmed that the gang had smuggled approximately 1 tonne of cocaine across the border. With the intent to sell their product to criminal elements in Newcastle-Upon-Eastmoor. They are believed to have transported the drugs on foot over the nearby mountain passes, utilising little known routes to avoid military patrols. Further investigation is continuing to confirm the origin point of the drugs however the Officer of Court Proceedings has passed a sentence of death by hanging to the 4 arrested members of the gang.
