Your right. I foolishly believed that you'd misunderstood devolution. That was appaling of me, I do understand.
I'm sure the soviet peoples trusted their regime greatly initially as well. Then look what happened there. I know it's 1001 good intentions, but it only takes a minute to all fall apart. It's the fact you have the unconditional right to station troops. The treaty was entirely apt and applicable INTIALLY. I think, like Versailles however, it ought to be subject to review, and re-negociation. I can see I'm dealing with an incredibly knowledgable person here, and I promise not to make such gross underestimations ever, EVER again.
Nevertheless, I remain slightly preturbed by the fact that this is just like the U.S.S.R and the Eastern Bloc, even if the intentions and ideals are different.

I don't think the majority of the Soviet peoples (at least those outside of Petrograd) entirely trusted the Soviet revolutionaries... The NKVD and... err... Siberia.... probably did a lot to ensure compliance and helpfulness as well. Anyway, the treaty has already been altered once (to overtly rather than tacitly state that Nova English land would always remain sovereign to it in the future), and I personally am always open to negotiation.

The SNP won by one seat with 100,000 invalid ballots... thay've had to form a minority Government... It's hardly a mandate for change in Scotland.

Yeah, I can't see anything but mindless rhetoric coming out of Scotland to be honest. Having a rich Scottish heritage, I should have a view on this. But i don't. So hey

Yeah, I can't see anything but mindless rhetoric coming out of Scotland to be honest. Having a rich Scottish heritage, I should have a view on this. But i don't. So hey It's mindless rhetoric precisely because the case for Scottish independence in the current climate is a pretty mindless one, IMHO.
