Adoption of the Eastmoorland Calendar
1. The Eastmoorland Calendar will enter into force as the primary method of date tracking within Nova England.
2. The Eastmoorland Calendar follows the subsequent directions;
a. The calendar follows the twenty four day Tarsican cycle, with each month beginning on the new Tarsican cycle.
b. The calendar commences from the death day of the Saint King John I, the founder of the Faedertellus.
c. A year shall consist of fifteen Tarsican cycles, being a total of 360 days.
i. Years following the death of the Saint King John I shall carry the affix ‘AJ’ (Aefter John).
ii. Years preceding the death of the Saint King John I shall carry the affix ‘BJ’ (Beforan John).
d. The fifteen months of the year shall be named as follows; Eftarisanmonaþ (1), Bordweall (2), Haligmonaþ (3), Martirmonaþ (4), Frydmonaþ (5), Heorþmonaþ (6), Saexmonaþ (7), Fyrmonaþ (8), Anfealtmonaþ (9), Thernoumonaþ (10), Speremonaþ (11), Hamurmonaþ (12), Feormmonaþ (13), Acennicgemonaþ (14) & Rimmonaþ (15).
e. Each month will consist of four weeks.
i. These weeks will consist of the following days; Tarsdaeg, Hoisdaeg, Middaeg, Endaeg, Aledaeg & Goddaeg.
ii. Each day within the month will be number from one to twenty four dependent on their position within the month.
f. The date will be expressed in written form as day-month-year, with the month being written in numerical form or formally named.
3. All government documentation and legislation will be amended to suit the Eastmoorland calendar.
a. This will be displayed alongside the Gregorian date for ease of translation for non-users of the calendar.
OOC; This bill will see Nova England utilising a new calendar based somewhat on the Norton calendar’s basis of 12 Micran days to 1 Earth day. However unlike the Norton calendar the Eastmoorland Calendar is a ‘Tariscan’ (Lunar) calendar that follows Tarsica’s lunar cycle of 24 days (NB; Micras wiki does display 24.8 but for ease of calculation, 24 days was the best starting point). As such, the Eastmoorland calendar ignores seasons with days and months shifting through the seasons on a 487 year cycle. The start date for the calendar is 19/08/1936 in Gregorian, current backstory and historical events will be amended to suit the change following implementation of the bill.
