Following a recent proclamation by the Shirerithian government, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has been notified of future risk to the national fisheries stock. This recently reacquired resource is vital to the growth of the faedertellus and illegal trawlers threaten the sanctity of our nation.
As such in partnership with the Ministry of Defence, the ‘Fisheries Protection Group’ is to be established with the sole aim of protecting the Exclusive Economic Zone for the Kingdom of Nova England. Volunteers will be trained by a cadre of National Police Force officers and a training team from the Nova English light infantry regiment.
Currently the FPG will utilise four converted fishing trawlers to patrol the EEZ, whilst two flights of Buladocga aircraft will undertake air patrols to located unlicensed fishing vessels.
However due to the ongoing threat of Alexandrian Flu, the National Health Institute Notice 020817 will take precedence over existing legislation concerning unlicensed fishing. Instead vessels found not to be carrying a valid fisheries licence from the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be subject to immediate destruction to eliminate potentially contaminated persons.

Extension of the Fisheries Protection Group Mandate.
Due to the continuing rise of piracy effecting Nova English shipping in the Great Western Ocean by the Shirerithian sponsored ‘Sea Reavers’. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has updated the remit of the Fisheries Protection Group to assist in the protection of Nova English flagged merchant ships and essential shipping routes through ongoing and pre-emptive operations. In order to fund this expansion the FPG has been authorised to sell all seized assets acquired during its operations and has been granted additional funds from the Ministry of Internal Affairs budget.
As such a new department has been created within the Fisheries Protection Group, to provide security on vulnerable vessels and undertake strike actions to eliminate pirate outposts. This department is to be named the ‘FPG Marshalls’, with training initially provided by the Ministry of Defence and armaments procured by the Fisheries Protection Group.
Secondly the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be introducing a new tax break for vessels employing Nova English private security contractors on their vessels. This will enable shipping firms to write off the cost of securing their cargo against their corporation tax assessments.
Lastly the Fisheries Protection Group will be working alongside the Ministry of Defence to provide forecasts of pirate activity and movements, to enable Nova English shipping warning of sea lanes to avoid.
