The aim of Operation Anvil is to eliminate the bandits and terrorists occupying the settlements of Lewes, Skargness & Ely. Within these settlements it is thought that a large population of Diaspora have been kept under subjugation by these undesirables.
On the 11th February the 1st & 2nd Company, 3rd Battalion of the Steðeheard Militia advanced into the independent town of Hullbeck. After speaking with the settlements leader a Mr Alfred Dunhill, they pledged fealty to the King and National Redoubt Command. Following this the two Companies continued to follow the main road through the abandoned resort of Threlkeld and King’s Watch. Simultaneously the 3rd & 4th Company advanced from Worcester into the empty village of Blaenau and awaited further orders.
From King’s Watch, the 1st & 2nd launched an assault on the town of Lewes and struck hard and fast in order to dislodge the enemy defenders. During the action the militia were successful in demolishing the Bandits headquarters which had been situated in a former police station. Friendly Diaspora quickly seized the opportunity and rose up against their captors, enabling the militia to secure the town within three hours.
The casualty report for this phase of the operation is as follows;
Hostile; KIA – 389 / WIA – 0 (All Executed)/ POW – 2
Friendly Forces; KIA – 4 / WIA – 12
Phase 2 of the Operation then began at 0530 the following morning of the 12th February 2017. The 1st & 2nd Company had harboured in Norton and split, with each engaging either Skargness or Ely. Concurrently the 3rd & 4th Companies split and attacked both targets trapping hostile forces within the deadly crossfire. With the element of surprise the 3rd Battalion was able to crush the hostile forces within both settlements in addition to capturing the small airstrip at Skargness and the Hemp fields in Ely. Once again the captive population was quickly organised by the 3rd Battalion and taken back under the wing of the National Redoubt.
The casualty report for the second phase of the operation is as follows;
Hostile; KIA – 675 / WIA – 0 (All Executed)/ POW -4
Friendly Forces; KIA – 8 / WIA – 34
Overall the operation has been a success with the amalgamation of four inhabited settlements into the National Redoubt. In addition to solidifying the Western expanse of the Nation Redoubt region under National Redoubt Command control. Meanwhile vital recaptured resources including the Hemp Fields and the Airstrip will enable the forces of the Faedertellus to grow quicker.
