As the Archbishop arrives, the fanfare is sounded
Grace, mercy and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ be always with you.
All: And also with you.
Alleluia! Christ has risen!
All: He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
The choir sing
Hosana to the Son of David. Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord, Hosanna, though that sittest in the highest heavens. Hosanna in excelsis Deo.
With the angels and the children may we be found faithful, crying unto the vanquisher of death: Hosanna in the highest!
With the angels and the children may we be found faithful, crying unto the vanquisher of death: Hosanna in the highest!
All: Almighty God,
to whom all hearts are open,
all desires known,
and from whom no secrets are hidden,
cleanse the thoughts of our hearts
by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit,
that we may perfectly love you,
and worthily magnify your Holy name,
through Christ our Lord.
Amen
All sing
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord:
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored; He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword: His truth is marching on.
(Chorus)
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.
I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps,
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps:
His day is marching on.
(Chorus)
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His day is marching on.
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat:
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.
(Chorus)
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
While God is marching on.
He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
He is Wisdom to the mighty, He is Succour to the brave,
So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of Time His slave,
Our God is marching on.
(Chorus)
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Our God is marching on.
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored; He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword: His truth is marching on.

Christ, our passover lamb has been sacreficed for us. Let us therefore rejoice by putting away all malice and evil and confessing our sins with a sincere and true heart.
All: Almighty God, our heavenly Father,
we have sinned against you and against our neighbour,
in thought and word and deed,
through negligence, through weakness,
through our own deliberate fault.
We are truly sorry,
and repent of all ours sins.
For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ,
who died for us,
forgive us all this is past;
and grant that we may serve you in newness of life
to the glory of your name. Amen
Almighty God, who forgives all who truly repent, have mercy upon you, pardon and deliver you from all your sins, confirm and strengthen you in all goodness, and keep you in life eternal; through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
The choir sing

Cum Sancto Spiritu
In gloria Dei Patris. Amen.

The first reading is taken from the book of Galatians chapter 5:
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
This is the word of the Lord.
All: thanks be to God.
The second reading is taken from Psalm 34:
11 Come, you children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12 Who is the man who desires life,
And loves many days, that he may see good?
13 Keep your tongue from evil,
And your lips from speaking deceit.
14 Depart from evil and do good;
Seek peace and pursue it.
15 The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their cry.
16 The face of the LORD is against those who do evil,
To cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
17 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the LORD delivers him out of them all.
20 He guards all his bones;
Not one of them is broken.
21 Evil shall slay the wicked,
And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned.
22 The LORD redeems the soul of His servants,
And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.
This is the word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God.
The sermon is preached
In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
It is widely thought that in this life our fate is governed, or atleast guided, by the will of God. Perhaps this is true to some extent, but it is my personal belief that the path that God has laid before us is given only as a choice and that the choice is ours to follow it, or otherwise. It is up to us to take up the cross and persue that which the Lord makes clear is His way.
This is as true of nations as it is of individuals, and as we can see from the first reading there are virtues which we as a country must seek to display: joy, gentleness and peace. These aren't characteristics that we here in Nova England are known for, and with all respect to His Majesty the King, it is possible that perhaps we have left the path which the Lord has intended from us. In a world scarred by so much evil it is up to us to be enact the changes which will bring God's Kingdom a step closer to reality here on earth, to quote "Bruce Almighty", it is up to us to "be the miracle". It is easy to speak words in favour of actions of peace and joy, it is much harder to actually carry them out, but i'm sure you'll agree that the greatest failure would be to allow fear of failure to sustain our inaction.
Christ lived his life to show what man could be when the way of the Lord was followed, and in the words of the Bible we have the key to unlocking the gates of the Lord's Kingdom. Therefore let no one come to us without leaving knowing that we radiate the love of Christ; so show joy in your smile, speak gentleness in your words and hold peace in your heart. Amen.
All sing
I, the Lord of sea and sky,
I have heard My people cry.
All who dwell in dark and sin,
My hand will save.
I who made the stars of night,
I will make their darkness bright.
Who will bear My light to them?
Whom shall I send?
Here I am Lord, Is it I Lord?
I have heard You calling in the night.
I will go Lord, if You lead me.
I will hold Your people in my heart.
I, the Lord of snow and rain,
I have born my peoples pain.
I have wept for love of them, They turn away.
I will break their hearts of stone,
Give them hearts for love alone.
I will speak My word to them,
Whom shall I send?
Here I am Lord, Is it I Lord?
I have heard You calling in the night.
I will go Lord, if You lead me.
I will hold Your people in my heart.
I, the Lord of wind and flame,
I will tend the poor and lame.
I will set a feast for them,
My hand will save
Finest bread I will provide,
Till their hearts be satisfied.
I will give My life to them,
Whom shall I send?
Here I am Lord, Is it I Lord?
I have heard You calling in the night.
I will go Lord, if You lead me.
I will hold Your people in my heart.
I have heard My people cry.
All who dwell in dark and sin,

As the Lord taught us, let us pray:
All: Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory. for ever and ever. Amen.
Go out in peace to love and serve the Lord.
All: in the name of Christ. Amen
